Jessica started off her academic career at Sacramento City College, studying accounting and computer science with a double-major in Business and Mathematics and earning her Associates degree in Business Administration. Currently a third-year student with fourth-year standing at Sacramento State University, Jessica is studying to earn her Bachelors in Financial Planning. On top of having a regular part-time job as a Student Instructional Assistant teaching upper division Algebra classes, Jessica also worked frequently as a private tutor for a wide variety of subjects.
Her Bachelors in Finance is on the horizon, and she plans to earn at least two prestigious professional certifications that complement her undergraduate education and her future career: the Certified Financial Planner® and Enrolled Agent credentials.
Jessica’s purpose in working in the field of Financial Planning is to learn how to better educate others and help them to improve their long-term financial wellbeing, an invaluable modern asset. She eagerly awaits her chance to help clients in navigating the intricacies of the complicated financial situations faced by most modern adults.
From Jessica’s perspective, Finance holds within its structure an essential component that makes the field both challenging and interesting to her, and she describes this quality as follows: “Finance is where the no-nonsense language of Math integrates with something that is just as complex but has a highly inventive and malleable nature to it. To assist and educate clients by becoming a Financial Planner is an opportunity to impact their lives positively.”
Jessica enjoys reading classic works of English literature, is well-traveled, has extensive experience with musical instruments, and likes to spend the odd weekend researching topics such as pharmacology, how to speak Japanese and Spanish, or various legal and medical concepts. Jessica enjoys visiting her family’s ranch to catch up with the family’s animals, especially her horse, Diego, and his “therapy goat,” Billy. Jessica has a knack for training animals and has done so all her life. Her most recent rescue project was housetraining her formerly-feral cat, Socks, and her proudest achievement is teaching the family goat to mock-fight her in return for being scratched between his ears.
